Abstract

Fatigue crack growth analysis requires accurate calculationof stress intensity factors (SIF) for planar cracks subjected tocomplex two-dimensional stress ¯elds. Moreover, it is importantto have a general method, which enables to calculate SIF for agiven crack con¯guration under arbitrary applied stress ¯eld. The most e±cient method is the weight function approach, pro-posed by Bueckner [1] and Rice [2]
