Notice that the prediction scatter is similar to the one from the SSF method. However, it must be noted that such critical-plane method calculations have a greater prediction potential, because they are only based on curve fittings of the uniaxial and pure-torsion experiments, while the polynomial fitting from the SSF method requires data calibration from all five tension-torsion tests.
