The in-plane and out-of-plane constraint effect are discussed from viewpoint of the non-singular terms, namely, xx T -stress and zz T -stress, respectively. The significant effect of thickness and loading mode mixity of specimen on the zz T -stress in the middle plane of the crack front has been observed at the same non-singular xx T -stress.
