Abstract

In this theoretical study, the influence of the shrink-fit on the stress state intwo different adjacent notched shaft geometries is exemplified on the interference and thecoefficient of friction. Both parameters were varied on a bending load in finite elementanalyses. It is shown that the investigated parameters conspicuously affect the mean stressand also the stress amplitude in the adjacent notches. Furthermore, the fatigue strengthwas evaluated by the local stress method (FKM-Guideline) for the material 1.0503 andcompared with experimental results. The range of the degree of utilisation is presentedsubject to the analysed parameters. Differences between the numerical and experimentalresults are discussed.
